Gar is responsible for the development of regional shopping centers and mixed-use projects throughout the United States.  His real estate background includes development, acquisition, leasing and financial analysis.  Prior to joining The MGHerring Group in 2004, he worked for Donahue Schriber in Newport Beach, California for five years and was responsible for developing and acquiring neighborhood shopping centers in Southern California and Nevada.    

Gar’s previous experience also includes a position as Loan Officer at Guaranty Bank in Dallas, Texas that included working with such prominent homebuilders as Kaufman & Broad, Del Webb, US Home and Lennar.  In addition, he had summer internships as a leasing agent with The DeBartolo Corporation and at The Staubach Company coordinating the purchase and sale of single-tenant net-lease properties.  

Gar earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Tulane University and received an M.B.A. with emphasis in real estate from the University of Texas.  He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
